CLE WEBINAR: BOB WORDEN, ESQ. INVITED TO PRESENT “THE ETHICS AND ART OF SETTLEMENT AT MEDIATION” TO THE ABA

New York, NY (April 19, 2021) – NAM  (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that NAM neutral, Bob Worden, Esq., has been invited by the American Bar Association (ABA) to present to a 60-minute CLE webinar, The Ethics and Art of Settlement at Mediation. This live-streaming program is opened to the public and will be held on Monday, June 7th at 12 p.m. ET.

Mr. Worden will focus on the best way for attorneys to benefit from mediation, including presentation, psychology, strategy and the moves that help to get the best results.  He will examine the mediation process and how ethical behavior can ultimately lead to success. 

A discussion of ethical considerations will include relevant ABA Model Rules, such as Rule 1.2:  Scope of Representation & Allocation of Authority Between Client & Lawyer, Rule 1.4 Communications, A Lawyer's Conduct (Preamble and Scope, Subsection [5]), Rule 1.7: Conflict of Interest:  Current Clients, Rule 1.14:  Client with Diminished Capacity, and Rule 3.5:  Impartiality & Decorum of the Tribunal.

Attendees will also learn to utilize effective behavior during the ADR process, which include:

  • the correlation between ethical behavior and success at mediation;
  • the benefits of positivity in the pursuit of settling your case; and
  • the importance of developing a trusting relationship with your client.
