New York, NY (April 27, 2021) – NAM  (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that NAM neutral, Hon. John P. DiBlasi, J.S.C. (Ret.), has been invited by the law firm Pillinger Miller Tarallo (PMT) to join a panel discussion entitled, Settling Cases During and After the Pandemic – Four Perspectives. The 2-hour complimentary virtual program is opened to the public and will be presented on Wednesday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m – 4:15 p.m.

The conference webinar will examine how settling personal injury cases has been affected both during and after the pandemic. Instead of the steady stream of cases going to court and eventually settling on the eve of trial, cases are stalled. The courts have been closed or operating at significantly reduced capacity for almost a year. Also a reduction in judges, court personnel, and jury trial limitations because of COVID -19 protocols has considerably slowed personal injury settlements.

The program will examine this from four perspectives. defense, plaintiffs, judicial and insurance. Judge DiBlasi will provide the judicial perspective and will be joined by Jeffrey T. Miller, Executive Partner for PMT for the defense perspective, Jeffrey A. Block, Partner at Block O'Toole & Murphy LLP for the plaintiff's perspective, and Vanessa Scrudato, Director of Construction Litigation, Onyx Insurance Brokerage Inc of AM Trust Financial Services for the insurance perspective. Additional insights will be provided by Jack Jennings, Adjunct Professor at Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management. The webinar will be moderated by Thomas M. Bona, Partner at PMT.
