(New York, NY) March 16, 2010 -The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings System is based on the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. Representatives from Martindale-Hubbell conduct personal interviews to discuss lawyers under review with other members of the Bar. A compilation of these opinions from various sources is necessary to form a consensus, and lawyers under review are often asked to provide professional references to assist with the process.

Additionally, confidential questionnaires are sent to lawyers and judges in the same geographic location and/or area of practice as the lawyer being rated. Members of the Bar are instructed to assess their colleague's legal ability and general ethical standards.

Comments by fellow peers include: “Judge DiBlasi has the insight, knowledge, experience and professionalism that is necessary in all fields of law. He is a very effective mediator and has the ability to produce positive results for both plaintiff and defense.” and “I have had the pleasure of working with Judge DiBlasi on numerous cases. I have always found him to have high ethical standards. He is well prepared and knowledgeable of the law involved in each particular case. He possesses a great ability to communicate with the adverse parties and find common ground from where he can work to resolve a case to the client's satisfaction. I would not hesitate to work with Judge DiBlasi again.”

“This honor means so much to me because it is based on reviews submitted by my peers,” said Judge DiBlasi. “To be ranked at the highest level of professional excellence, also reflects greatly upon the outstanding support that I receive from everyone at NAM.”

Judge DiBlasi is based in the New York Metro region but is considered a “National” Hearing Officer with NAM, hearing cases all throughout the country. Since returning to NAM in 2009, Judge DiBlasi has facilitated the settlement of complex litigation involving personal injury, labor law, entertainment law, land use and employment cases. Since January of 2010, he has settlements ranging from 1.5 million to 4.85 million.

Judge DiBlasi has committed himself to a full-time ADR practice. He has developed a reputation for settling even the most complex matters and is persistent in following up with parties weeks and sometimes months later (post-mediation), in an effort to assist the parties in reaching a resolution. As an arbitrator, Judge DiBlasi has the skills necessary to digest and analyze expert testimony, complex contracts and documents, as well as the ability to render prompt and reasoned decisions. His experience encompasses a wide-variety of subject matter expertise; however, Judge DiBlasi can take on almost any subject matter that is brought before him, as he is known to be well prepared and adept at comprehending even the most challenging issues.
