As such, he brings a wealth of experienced to NAM and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on insurance and reinsurance matters. His knowledge in the property and casualty and life and health markets includes long-term care, captives, brokers and intermediaries, run-off entities and surplus and excess lines. His distinguished career has brought him to the forefront of some of the largest insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes in the country including the World Trade Center Respiratory Coverage Litigation, the NFL Concussion Coverage Litigation, a significant Bernard Madoff bond dispute and the Unicover debacle reinsurance arbitration. Additionally, he has litigated complex commercial disputes, employment, insurance regulatory and product liability matters.
Mr. Schiffer has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Bermuda and the United Kingdom and has been widely published on reinsurance and other insurance litigation and technology topics in various national and international journals and publications. As a litigator and skillful negotiator in insurance/reinsurance matters, he has garnered a reputation for fair valuation of cases and is dedicated in his effort to assist parties in moving cases toward equitable and impartial resolution.
