New York, NY (October 15, 2020) – During these unprecedented times, Alternative Dispute Resolution, now more than ever, is front and center when it comes to resolving disputes. James J. Wrynn, Esq. NAM's Chief Commercial Officer and Hearing Officer, has been on the virtual road, extolling ADR's virtues and benefits to the nation's legal community. What follows are just a few of the stops he made.

Campolo, Middleton & McCormick – Guest Spotlight

On Tuesday, October 13th, Mr. Wrynn participated in a Guest Spotlight feature with the law firm Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, in an engaging Q&A where he addressed the kind of disputes that are a good choices for ADR, how the pandemic has severely limited court operations and how NAM has filled that void. He also delved into how NAM successfully pivoted from in-person hearings to virtual ones and how parties and counsel are finding it quicker and more cost-effective. He stated, “The Mediator/Arbitrator can speak to all parties and counsel together or separate them into break-out rooms. We are also finding that there is much more eye contact with parties and counsel virtually, where faces are very visible o the screen, than there would be if all were present in the same room sitting around large conference room table.” To read the entire interview click here.

FAIR Foundation

Also, this past week, Mr. Wrynn participated in panel discussion to the FAIR Foundation on the topic of Building a Culture of Preparedness. Panelists discussed the fundamental issues of risk ownership impacting the resiliency gap. Mr Wrynn's seminar, Who Owns the Risk?, addressed the impact of climate change on insurance rates, availability and coverage. The FAIR Foundation is a nonprofit organization, conceived to create safer, stronger, more resilient communities by educating consumers on the risks of water, wind and other natural disasters, promoting wind and flood mitigation and reducing uninsured risk.

DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar

Mr. Wrynn completed his virtual trifecta presenting to DRI, The Voice of the Defense Bar, Mediation 101: Advance Your Case and Settle It. As part of a panel discussion, he addressed in detail how to properly prepare for Mediation.  DRI is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel.
