New York, NY (September 25, 2018) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, is proud to announce that Susan Hernandez, Esq. has been named the 2018 Latina Lawyer of the Year by the Latino Lawyers Association of Queens County (LLAQC). Ms. Hernandez will be honored at the organization's 22nd Annual Awards Dinner Dance on October 12th at Terrace On The Park, 52-11 111th Street, Flushing Meadow Park, Queens, NY. For the second year in a row, Ms. Hernandez was voted the #1 Mediator in New York State in the 2018 New York Law Journal Reader Rankings Survey. She was also named a National Law Journal 2017 Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of on only 37 nationwide. Renowned for her advocacy, legal acumen and insight, Ms. Hernandez is a staunch supporter of women's rights and frequently lectures on ways to establish procedures and policies to increase the appointment of women and minorities in the courtroom and as arbitrators and mediators in ADR.

A strong proponent of ADR, in 2012 Ms. Hernandez was appointed to spearhead the Mediation Pilot Program in the Bronx Supreme Court and conferenced and mediated multiple cases daily, resolving and/or disposing of well over 1,000 cases during her tenure overseeing the Program. Further, her mediation experience includes a range of case types that include personal injury, real property/partition contracts, employment, discrimination and sexual harassment matters.
