NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation) neutral, David S. Feather, Esq., in conjunction with the Practising Law Institute (PLI), will present a one-hour Continuing Legal Education (CLE) webcast entitled New York State Paid Family Leave Act: What You Need To Know on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

The New York State Paid Family Act is the most significant employment law in New York State since the passage of the New York State Executive Law in 1945.  The fourth such state-level law of its kind in the country (and arguably the most comprehensive), this law is sure to transform the employment landscape not only in New York, but nationwide.

Please join Mr. Feather for an in-depth introduction to and overview of this new law.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Which employees are covered by this law;
  • Under what circumstances may leave be taken;
  • The procedure for taking leave;
  • Responsibilities of both employers and employees;
  • How denials of leave will be handled.
