HON. JOHN P. DIBLASI TO SPEAK ON MEDIATION AT THE NEW YORK COUNTY LAWYERS ASSOCIATION'S CLE SEMINAR

Hon. John P. DiBlasi has been invited to participate in a CLE seminar for the NYCLA entitled the 39th Annual Civil Trial Practice Institute: A Bridge the Gap for Litigators. The 2-day program will be held at the New York County Lawyers Association on Friday, March 11, 2016 and Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 14 Vesey Street, New York, NY 10007 from 9:00 am -5:00 pm.

Judge DiBlasi will be participating in a panel discussion during the Mediation in Commercial and Personal Injury Cases portion of the program which will take place on Friday, March 11th. The panel will be discussing the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a cost-effective and time efficient option to costly litigation. In addition, the panel will be discussing practical tips and suggested practices regarding: the use of pre-hearing submissions; the effective use of the joint session; what to expect during breakout sessions; facilitative vs. evaluative mediation; the interaction between mediator and the client; the post mediation agreement and buyer's remorse and what to do if the case doesn't settle.

Judge DiBlasi is the former presiding Justice of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Westchester County, and creator of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program used successfully by that court. He has mediated over 3,000 cases and his ADR practice centers on resolving Commercial, International, Finance, Employment, Entertainment, Land Use, and Professional Malpractice matters. Judge DiBlasi hears cases throughout New York State, the United States and internationally.
