CLE: INTRODUCTION TO ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

New York, NY (February 6, 2019) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is proud to announce that Robert Adams, Esq., has been invited by Ringler Associates, Inc., to present a 45-minute Continuing Legal Education program, Introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution. The seminar will be held at the Island Hotel, 690 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, CA, Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:15 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic and interactive discussion with one of NAM's top mediators.

As a former pro-athlete and college basketball referee, Mr. Adams draws parallels between the mediation process and his own athletic philosophy – be prepared, be fundamentally fair and gain the trust and respect of the parties. His seminar addresses a broad array of mediation-related topics and how they apply to the insurance sector.

Points of discussion will include:

  • Approach and timing of the mediation;
  • Keeping an open mind – listen;
  • Submissions, what should be included;
  • Important factors to remember about the mediation session: check emotions at the door, be truthful with the mediator and understand that everyone's goal at the end of the day is resolution.

Further, the seminar will focus on the benefits of ADR and the fundamental concepts of achieving success through the mediation process, with a focus on how ADR can quickly and efficiently bring about a resolution – saving time, resources and avoiding the uncertainty of litigation.
