Posted on Sep 25, 2018 |CLE Events

NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation) neutral, the Honorable Peter B. Skelos, will participate in a panel discussion presented by Crowell & Moring LLP and The Association of Corporate Counsel New York City Chapter (ACC-NYC). The 2-hour Signature CLE presentation, Friend or Foe: Tailoring Your Agreements Accordingly, will take place Tuesday, September 25th at the firm's Manhattan office, 590 Madison Avenue, 22nd Floor, New York, NY.

Agreements are a key aspect of any business relationship, but what happens when the parties no longer agree? Preparing for that contingency when drafting agreements can make all the difference. Should you include mediation provisions, or focus on jurisdiction and venue provisions for litigation as your exclusive means for resolving a dispute? Understanding the strategic goals of a business relationship can help you decide on the most advantageous way to resolve any disputes that arise and ensure that important customer and supplier relationships continue for the long-term success of your business.

Judge Skelos will be joined by Crowell Moring attorneys, Sarah Gilbert, Esq., Partner, Anne Elise Herold Li, Esq., Counsel and Paul Pollock, Esq., Partner.

Hon. Peter B. Skelos is a former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, 2nd Department. He is well-versed in the law and is a highly regarded mediator and arbitrator for NAM. He has arbitrated and mediated cases that include construction, commercial, professional liability, insurance coverage, matrimonial, medical malpractice and personal injury matters.  In 2018, for the third year in a row, Judge Skelos was voted a Top Ten Mediator by The New York Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey and for the second straight year was named a National Law Journal Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of  a select group of only 46 nationwide (2018, 2017).
