HON. ELIZABETH BONINA AND LAWRENCE FARBMAN, ESQ. TO PARTICPATE IN A PANEL DISCUSSION ON MEDIATION AT THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION'S LPL YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CLE PROGRAM

Hon. Bonina and Mr. Farbman will be participating in a panel discussion entitled Mediation: Behind the Scenes which will explore mediation in the context of legal malpractice cases. The presentation will identify best practices and techniques to utilize in problematic situations such as allegations of bad faith or excess exposure, issues relating to the insured”s consent, policy limits demands and covered/uncovered claims and techniques to break stalemates during the mediation process.

Hon. Bonina is a former Justice of the Supreme Court, Kings County. She has mediated a myriad of cases including employment, professional malpractice, premises liability, labor law, sports and entertainment, products liability and personal injury. For the third consecutive year, Judge Bonina was voted the #1 Arbitrator in New York State by the 2015 New York Law Journal Reader Rankings Survey, and was selected as one of the Top Ten Mediators in the State for the sixth year in a row by that same survey.

Lawrence Farbman, Esq. has mediated and arbitrated all types of tort law matters including personal injury, property damage and intentional torts, auto, premises liability, slip and fall, labor law and professional malpractice. He also has handled commercial matters including breach of contract and real estate disputes. For the second straight year, Mr. Farbman was voted a Top 10 Arbitrator in New York State by The New York Law Journal Readers Rankings Survey (2015, 2014) and in the past was named one of the Top Ten Mediators in the State.
