Joseph L. Ehrlich’s long and distinguished career includes practicing law for more than 30 years, first as a prominent plaintiff’s attorney, and subsequently as a full-time mediator with NAM. In 2020 he was voted a Top 10 Mediator in the New York Law Journal Best Of Survey and was recognized as the #1 Mediator and Arbitrator in the New York State the prior year. Mr. Ehrlich was also ranked the top Mediator in the state in 2016 and has consistently been voted a Top Ten Mediator over the last ten years.

Mr. Ehrlich handled hundreds of cases from inception through trial, including those related to construction, negligence, personal injury, premises liability, labor law, auto, and product liability. His many years in practice earned him a reputation of being fair, levelheaded, and able to value a case accurately. A seasoned trial professional, Mr. Ehrlich has tried cases in virtually all counties and venues in the metropolitan area, including New York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Orange, Sullivan and Rockland Counties.

As a full-time Mediator with NAM, his integrity and legal acumen have earned him the respect and confidence of both the plaintiff and defense bars, as his case referrals are sourced equally from both sides, as well as directly from insurance carrier representatives. Mr. Ehrlich’s years of practice have given him a deep understanding of the case evaluation nuances specific to many different types of cases and injuries. He is a longtime supporter of alternative dispute resolution and his expertise in complex negotiations makes him an exceptionally well rounded and effective mediator and arbitrator with NAM.

Mr. Ehrlich hears cases throughout New York State and serves on NAM’s national roster of hearing officers. He is often selected to serve as a mediator and/or arbitrator on cases throughout the country.
