NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, is proud to announce that as part of its partnership with the New York State Academy Lawyers, two of NAM's highly regarded neutrals, the Honorable Elizabeth Bonina, J.S.C. (Ret.) and Susan Hernandez, Esq., have been invited to present a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar entitled, Introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution, to its members.
The CLE program will be held in two locations – one in Manhattan (FPWA Conference Room, 40 Broad Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY) and the other on Long Island (Holiday Inn, 215 Sunnyside Blvd., Plainview, New York), October 22nd and October 29th, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., respectively.
Judge Bonina and Ms. Hernandez will address how to reduce the uncertainty and expense often associated with litigation by attempting to resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, such as arbitration and mediation.
This course will cover the latest developments and hot button issues that arise in arbitrating and mediating personal injury, nursing home, and medical malpractice matters, address best practices designed to help reduce and resolve those matters, and help in-house legal professionals understand their role in the dispute resolution process.
The New York State Academy has more than 2,800 members that include plaintiff and defense attorneys, members of the judiciary and others in the legal profession from every corner of New York State.

Judge Bonina has arbitrated and mediated a myriad of case types including employment, professional malpractice, premises liability, labor law, sports and entertainment, products liability and personal injury.
