HONORABLE JOHN G. INGRAM JOINS NAM'S ESTEEMED NEW YORK METRO ROSTER

New York, NY (March 30, 2020) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce the addition of Honorable John G. Ingram (Ret.) to its New York Metro roster of neutrals.

Judge Ingram is recognized as one of the nation's foremost authorities in admiralty law. His remarkable career as both a judge and a maritime litigator includes his successful handling of hundreds of cases representing container ship companies, cruise ship owners, terminal operators, passenger and harbor workers, docking pilots and the Port of Albany. As a litigator, he represented seafarers in multiple United States Coast Guard investigations. As a Commissioner of Pilots, he conducted and adjudicated numerous investigations involving marine casualties.

He has a broad range of knowledge in a wide variety of maritime matters that includes cargo damage, charter party disputes, collision litigation, towing, cruise ship passenger claims, groundings, Jones Act/unseaworthiness and longshore harbor workers' personal injury claims, among others.

Judge Ingram also served as Acting Surrogate in Kings and Richmond counties where he presided over more than thousand cases involving contested will and estate claims, status of beneficiaries and guardianship/adoption disputes. Known for his patient, fair and unbiased manner when working with parties to resolve their cases, he is well suited to the role of neutral in private ADR.
