New York, NY (August 11, 2020) – During these unusual times, Virtual ADR is now the norm when presenting Continuing Legal Education programs and NAM neutrals are consistently being invited to share their knowledge and expertise on a wide array of topics. Most recently, two of NAM's highly regarded hearing officers, the Honorable Elizabeth Bonina, J.S.C. (Ret.) and James W. Borkowski, Esq. were each invited to participate in live streaming CLE seminars. Respectively, Judge Bonina presented to the the New York State Academy of Trials Lawyers and Mr. Borkowski to the United Educators.

On Friday, August 7th, Judge Bonina joined a panel discussion entitled, Get It Settled – Negotiation Strategies. More than 1,700 legal counsel signed up to learn first-hand about settlement tactics for both plaintiff and defense practitioners. She also addressed the best mediation practices both in the court and privately and how counsel, for both sides, can achieve the best results for their clients.

Having successfully participated in numerous videoconferences and teleconferences, on Thursday, July 30th, Mr. Borkowski shared his experiences with members of United Educators. During this live streaming event, Tips and Techniques for Ensuring Impactful and Successful Virtual Mediations, attendees were engaged to learn about the advantages of virtual mediations. Topics included getting started with a Zoom mediations, cybersecurity and how to display exhibits, video surveillance and other documentation.

United Educators (UE) provides liability insurance and risk management services to more than 1,600 members representing schools, colleges, and universities throughout the United States. 

Judge Bonina and Mr. Borkowski are both available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the New York Metro area.
