BAR ASSOCIATION OF ERIE COUNTY TO HOLD ITS ANNUAL DINNER HONORING SEVEN MEMBERS

The Bar Association of Erie County will hold its 131st Annual Dinner Tuesday, June 5th, honoring seven of its  members who have distinguished themselves this past year. Those receiving awards are: Karen L. Nicolson, Lawyer of the Year, Hon. Craig D. Hannah, Outstanding Jurist, James P. Harrington, the Hon. John T. Curtin Profiles in Courage Award, John J. Aman, the Charles H. Dougherty Civility Award,  William Mattar, the Award of Merit and Roderick Quebral and the late Gregory T. Miller will both receive the Special Service Award.

NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation) Neutral Hon. Jerome C. Gorski, former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, 4th Department, will attend the event on behalf of NAM.

Hon. Gorski has had a long and distinguished legal career. Prior to his appointment to the Appellate Division, he served as a Trial Judge in the Eighth Judicial District for over 12 years.  Before his service on the bench, he served as a law clerk for the USDJ John J. Sirica, and to County Court Judge and NYS Supreme Court Justice James L. Kane. When he was not working in the Court system, Judge Gorski was engaged in private practice which consisted of general legal practice, negligence, product liability litigation, employment rights and collective bargaining/labor relations related work.  Judge Gorski brings to the ADR arena his broad knowledge of many legal issues, as well as his strong negotiation and settlement skills that he honed as a labor lawyer and trial judge.
