Within a period of more than ten years during her illustrious career, Judge Moskowitz was elected and subsequently re-elected to the Supreme Court, New York County. For 5 years, she served with distinction as a Supreme Court Justice sitting in the Commercial Division where she facilitated the settlement of numerous contract interpretation and enforcement disputes as well as corporate, partnership, construction, and international matters. Prior to that, she sat in the Medical Malpractice Part of the Supreme Court for eleven years. Judge Moskowitz’s other past judicial experiences include her appointment to Acting Supreme Court Justice, where she presided over an Individual Assignment System (IAS) Part managing an inventory of over a thousand cases involving the City of New York which included challenges to city agency actions (Article 78), commercial and contract disputes. As Acting Justice, she oversaw numerous pre-trial conferences as well as conducted jury and bench trials where she successfully resolved issues and settled litigation.
Justice Moskowitz’s reputation is that of being well-versed in the law with comprehensive knowledge and experience in a variety of case types including commercial, medical malpractice, appellate practice, attorney malpractice, banking and finance, construction, e-commerce, insurance, international trade disputes, matrimonial, partnership law and trade secrets. She has presided over high profile, multi-party complex cases and is known for her intelligence, determination, fair and unbiased manner when assisting parties with the settlement of their disputes. These qualities make her extremely well-suited to her role in private Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She has the natural settlement skills and extensive legal experience required to assist parties in reaching resolutions in mediations and arbitrations and to render prompt and well-reasoned decisions. Further, she was named a National Law Journal 2018 Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of only 46 nationwide.

Judge Moskowitz is a dedicated advocate for women’s rights and diversity in the workplace and has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards. Those include the Award of Special Recognition (New York Women’s Bar Association), Edith Spivak Award (Women’s Rights Committee of the New York County Lawyers Association)), the Founder’s Award (New York Women’s Bar Association) and the Women of Valor Award (Women’s Medical Association of New York City). She is also past president of the New York Women’s Bar Association, the New York State Association of Women Judges and the National Association of Women Judges. Further, she was Co-Chair of the Summary Jury Trials Committee of the Jury Trial Project of the
New York State Courts and is a Charter Member of the American College of Business Court Judges. She also is on the Executive Committee of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) Delegate to the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association.
In 2018, Justice Moskowitz was appointed Special Master of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, First Judicial Department for the pre-argument mediation program. She also is an active member of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association where she has served as a moderator and participant on commercial panels. Judge Moskowitz is a frequent lecturer on topics includng commercial litigation, e-discovery, civility in the courtroom and women’s issues.
Judge Moskowitz is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
