Hon. Stephen N. Limbaugh, Sr. (Ret.)

Known for his honesty and integrity as a jurist, the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, Sr. has had long and distinguished legal career. For 25 years, he served as U.S. District Court Judge in the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri where he presided over, ruled on and was involved in hundreds of cases that encompassed virtually every aspect of federal law and issues associated with complex business litigation including antitrust, class action, intellectual property, personal injury, product liability and securities matters. During his many years as a federal judge, by designation, he has also tried cases in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, and Texas and has set with the 5th, 8th and 11th Circuits.

Prior to his appointment to the bench by President Ronald Regan in 1983, Judge Limbaugh was engaged in private practice and served as prosecuting attorney and city attorney for Cape Girardeau County Missouri where he tried cases in both state and federal courts, and on appeal. As an advocate in private and public service, he has provided strategic counseling to clients throughout the U.S. in trial strategy, case assessment, advice re-jury selection and assessing the value of cases

Judge Limbaugh is known as a hard-working detail-oriented judge whose even-handed demeanor makes him highly effective in the resolution of complex matters. His ability to approach matters fairly and in an unbiased manner along with his openness and willingness to listen to arguments, makes him extremely well-suited to arbitrate and mediate cases for NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation).

Judge Stephen Limbaugh was a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association for four years and was President of the Missouri Bar in 1982. He is a member of the American Law Institute and has received numerous awards as a lawyer and judge. In 1982, he was listed in the First Edition of the Best Lawyers in America by Stevens Naifeh & Gregory White Smith in the field of Corporate Litigation in Missouri.
