John G. Ingram has been invited to present a live streaming CCBJ (Corporate Counsel Business Journal) CLE webinar entitled Introduction to Admiralty Law and the Use of ADR in Resolving Maritime Disputes. This complimentary presentation is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, October 22nd, 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT

Judge Ingram will provide an overview of admiralty law that will benefit both the novice and seasoned practitioners.  Identification of certain types of disputes where Alternative Dispute Resolution can be beneficial will also be discussed, as well as how the use of ADR can be effective in the resolution of disputes involving maritime law.

About NAM's Presenter

Judge Ingram is recognized as one of the nation's foremost authorities in admiralty law.  His remarkable career as both a judge and a maritime litigator includes his successful handling of hundreds of cases representing container ship companies, cruise ship owners, terminal operators, passenger and harbor workers, docking pilots and the Port of Albany.  As a litigator, he represented seafarers in multiple United States Coast Guard investigations. As a Commissioner of Pilots, he conducted and adjudicated numerous investigations involving marine casualties.

Judge Ingram has a broad range of knowledge in a wide variety of maritime matters that includes cargo damage, charter party disputes, collision litigation, towing, cruise ship passenger claims, groundings, Jones Act/unseaworthiness, and longshore harbor workers' personal injury claims, among others.  A strong proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution, he is known for his patient, fair and unbiased manner when working with parties to resolve their cases.

Judge Ingram has taught Admiralty Law at both New York Law School and St. John's Law School, and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the State University of New York Maritime College where he continues to lecture on the subject.
