HON. BARBARA ODWAK AND NAM GENERAL COUNSEL JACQUELINE SILVEY TO SPEAK AT NYSBA ANNUAL MEETING CLE PROGRAM IN NYC

Hon. Odwak and Ms. Silvey will be providing their insight into the advantages of the alternative dispute resolution experience. They will discuss when and what to arbitrate, when and what to mediate, how the process works and what the parties can expect. They will also discuss various specialized options, such as judge days and hi/lo arbitrations, which can be best suited to a particular client's needs.

The CLE portion of the Annual Meeting will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown, Regent Parlor 2nd Floor, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019, between 8:45 AM and 4:00 PM.

Hon. Barbara Odwak has been working in the field of ADR since the mid 1980?s, mediating and arbitrating thousands of cases in the areas of personal injury, labor law, product liability real estate and commercial matters. Hon. Odwak is a court-appointed evaluator, receiver, referee, trustee, guardian, attorney for the allegedly incompetent and a Guardian Ad Litem. She served as Master Arbitrator appointed by the New York State Department of Insurance No-Fault Division for many years. Hon. Odwak also served as an administrative law judge for the Environmental Protection Agency and the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission.

Jacqueline I. Silvey, General Counsel at NAM, is involved in various operations of the company including panel development, oversight and implementation of commercial and employment dispute resolution initiatives and the general business affairs of the company. She currently oversees NAM's Neutral Recruitment Team and works closely with NAM's Chief Financial Officer in the area of corporate governance. Ms. Silvey also oversees NAM's in-house legal department. She has been invited to participate in numerous continuing legal education seminars to speak on the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
