HON. PETER B. SKELOS INVITED TO PRESENT CLE TO THE NASSAU LAWYERS' ASSOCIATION

NAM is proud to announce that Hon. Peter B. Skelos has been invited by the Nassau Lawyers' Association of Long Island to present a CLE entitled “Motion Practice in the Appellate Division and an Overview of Disciplinary Process”. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at The Carltun, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY at 6:30 p.m. NAM is a co-sponsor of the event.
The presentation will include a nuts and bolts examination of motion practice which includes discussion on orders to show cause; temporary restraining orders (TRO); CPLR 5704 motions; motions for dismissal; change or restoration of the status quo; preliminary injunctions; stays pending appeal and a discussion of the disciplinary process in the Appellate Division.
Hon. Ruth C. Balkin and Hon. Leornard B. Austin will also be joining Judge Skelos on the panel.
Hon. Peter B. Skelos is a former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, 2nd Department. He is well-versed in the law and is a highly regarded mediator and arbitrator for NAM. He hears a wide variety of case types including construction, commercial, professional liability, insurance coverage, matrimonial, medical malpractice and personal injury matters. Judge Skelos was voted a Top Ten Mediator by the 2016 New York Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey.
