NAM Neutrals Hon. Karla Moskowitz, Hon. Peter B. Skelos And Hon. Ira B. Warshawsky to guide the discussion and provide real-world insights on best practices in ADR.
New York, NY (April 19, 2018) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation) in conjunction with the Association of Corporate Counsel New York City (ACC-NYC) Chapter will present a 75-minute CLE seminar entitled Ethics of ADR with a Focus on eDiscovery as part of a Fordham University School of Law 2018 Annual Ethics Marathon. Featuring NAM neutrals Hon. Moskowitz, Hon. Peter B. Skelos and Hon. Ira B. Warshawsky, the presentation will take place on the university campus at the Skadden Conference Center, 150 West 62nd Street, New York, NY on Tuesday, April 24th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
The program will train attendees on how to improve their ethical awareness and develop competencies for dealing with sticky ethical situations in ADR. Judges Moskowitz, Skelos and Warshawsky will guide attendees through a discussion of recent cases and real-world situations, and present tools to address and avoid liability for ethical breaches while maintaining professional responsibility. Furthermore, due to the increased volume of cases involving electronically stored information (ESI), mediators are now facilitating and resolving e-Discovery issues. Accordingly, the panelists will focus on how these “e-mediators” are addressing the different set of ethical rules that ESI presents. Leeza Garber, Corporate Counsel for Capsicum Group will moderate.
Roy Israel, President and CEO of NAM stated, “Who better than to discuss ethics and ADR, then three of NAM's highly regarded neutrals whose judicial insight and knowledge from years on the bench is second to none. Whenever a prominent law school or firm invites our arbitrators and mediators to speak on relevant matters, it is an affirmation of the quality of talent on NAM's roster and our preeminent position in the ADR community. I am certain that hearing directly from Judges Moskowitz, Skelos and Warshawsky, will prove to be an intellectually enriching experience for all those who attend.”
