NAM'S CLE ACC-NYC CLE PRESENTATION “ACHIEVING EQUALITY FOR WOMEN ATTORNEYS IN THE COURTROOM AND ADR” RECEIVES STELLAR RECEPTION

On Wednesday, June 20th, NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), a leading provider of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, and The Association of Corporate Counsel New York City Chapter (ACC-NYC) presented a thought provoking plenary program entitled Achieving Equality for Women Attorneys in the Courtroom and ADR. The presentation was part of the ACC-NYC In-House Counsel Tool Kit which took place at Convene in midtown Manhattan. More than 200 in-house counsel and fellow colleagues, including NAM Neutrals Hon. John P. DiBlasi and Richard P. Byrne, Esq., attended the full-day event. NAM's CLE diversity, inclusion and elimination and bias program received a stellar reception and was a standout success.
NAM's Director of Continuing Legal Education, Stephanie J. Ball, JD moderated and contributed to a panel discussion that reviewed the New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA) recent report IF NOT NOW, WHEN? The survey was produced by a committee of prominent women attorneys and was published to foster greater female participation as litigators, adjudicators and neutrals. The issues of diversity, fairness and access to justice affect all parties in the legal profession, including in-house counsel, outside counsel and ADR professionals. The program looked at specific proposals, procedures and policies to increase participation by women and minorities in law firms, law departments and ADR.
