NEW YORK SUPREME COURT JUSTICE HAROLD B. BEELER JOINS NAM

National Arbitration and Mediation, Inc. (NAM) has announced that Hon. Harold B. Beeler, former New York Supreme Court Justice, has joined NAM's distinguished New York panel of neutrals. Effective January 15, 2010, he will be available to mediate and arbitrate cases throughout the New York Metropolitan Area.
Judge Beeler's most recent assignment was in the New York Supreme Court in Manhattan where he presided over both civil and criminal cases since 1991. He also served as Judge in Civil Court of the City of New York. Roy Israel, President & CEO of NAM stated that “Judge Beeler has a diverse legal background, as he has presided over a wide-variety of high-profile, multi-party complex cases. He is well respected in the NY Metropolitan legal community, and both the plaintiff and defense bar have expressed confidence and trust in his judgment and legal acumen. We are certain that Judge Beeler will be a strong addition to our NY Metro panel.”
Some of Judge Beeler's notable cases include the Sean “Puffy” Combs civil trial for the alleged false imprisonment of his limousine driver; a large products liability law suit involving Samsung for a defective DVD player which ignited and set fire to a home; and an intellectual property case regarding an alleged breach of contract for the unauthorized use of the Columbia Sportswear label on imported goods from India.
“I have always enjoyed helping parties reach consensus on complex legal issues,” said Judge Beeler. “At NAM, I am looking forward to continue my service to the community, while affording me the opportunity to concentrate my efforts in helping to resolve large, interesting cases.” Judge Beeler will be based in NAM's new, state-of-the-art facility in Midtown Manhattan and will also be available to mediate and arbitrate cases throughout the Region. His expertise is in commercial, personal injury, insurance, medical malpractice and real estate dispute resolution.
