With that thought in mind, NAM would like to invite you to view two pre-recorded webcasts entitled An Introduction to the Use of Video Conferencing Technology for Arbitration and Mediation and Its Benefits.

Please join the Honorable John P. DiBlasi, J.S.C. (Ret.) and Richard P. Byrne, Esq. as they share their experiences as Virtual Neutrals mediating and arbitrating cases remotely. The broader discussion includes an explanation of the need for this technology, its many benefits and, most importantly, the simplicity of its use. Specifically, topics will include the accessibility of the technology, the ability to use it anywhere, its reliability and benefits with respect to business continuity, savings in time, reduction in costs and its favorable impact on scheduling.

Additionally, Judge DiBlasi and Mr. Byrne will provide practical explanations of the use of the technology during arbitrations and mediations. They will discuss the creation of joint sessions, breakout rooms, and the handling of virtual negotiations confidentially, securely and expeditiously. Finally, the role of NAM's IT Department will be discussed and its commitment to ensuring that you are fully supported throughout the virtual ADR sessions.

It is NAM's belief that this technology will be looked upon as an incredibly beneficial and viable alternative to in-person ADR. It is not only to be used in this time of crisis, but in the future, when life and business, as we know it, has returned to normal.

Meet the Presenter

Hon. John P. DiBlasi is a former Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Commercial Division and has mediated thousands of cases throughout his career. Richard P. Byrne, Esq.,  is a member of NAM's (National Arbitration and Mediation) Hearing Officer Panel and is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the United States. He has successfully mediated issues in a wide variety of specialty areas, including commercial matters, employment discrimination claims, employment contract disputes, construction litigation, complex personal injury and property damage claims, together with insurance, reinsurance and risk transfer matters.
