November 2 2006,

Roy Israel, the President and CEO of NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), and Hon. Harry Seidell, a former Justice of the Supreme Court (Suffolk), recognized as experts in the area of arbitration, will be sharing their knowledge and experiences about the arbitration process at a seminar series hosted by the Suffolk County Bar Association. A representative from the American Arbitration Association will also be participating in the conference.

The seminar is expected to attract both plaintiff and defense counsels interested in learning more about Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Attorneys attending the seminar series will earn continuing legal education credits. Topics will include what every attorney should know about the arbitration process and the role of the case manager.

Justice Harry Seidell (Ret.), a Hearing Officer for NAM, will also be lecturing about the role of the arbitrator and how to select the right arbitrator for your case. Hon. Seidell has resolved hundreds of complex legal disputes both on the bench and, currently, as an exclusive member of NAM's panel. Justice Seidell is an active proponent of using ADR to help ease overburdened court systems from backlogged cases.

The seminar series is scheduled to take place at the Suffolk Bar Association headquarters in Hauppauge on the evenings of January 10th and 17th in 2007.
