Monies donated to this event will go directly to help in the purchase of toys that will be delivered to patients at pediatric departments of several Long Island hospitals this holiday season. The toy shopping event will take place on December 5, 2012 at the Toys R Us in Carle Place and the Toy Delivery will take place on December 17th at local hospitals in Long Island, New York.

This year, members of the New York Islanders Coaching Staff, including Islander Head Coach Jack Capuano, Assistant Coach and Senior Advisor to the General Manager Doug Weight, Assistant Coach Brent Thompson and Video Coach Matt Bertani will participate in the shopping spree at Toys ‘R Us. The event continues on December 17, when the coaches and members of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Islander American Hockey League affiliate, will be travelling to the hospitals to visit with the children and deliver the toys.

Roy Israel, President and CEO of NAM stated: This is a heartwarming event and I am very happy that NAM has partnered with the New York Islanders to deliver toys to children in the hospital during this holiday season. With everything that Long Island has been through since the Hurricane, I am happy to support a cause that helps spread a little joy this time of year.
