Diversity & Inclusion
At NAM, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment that offers all employees the opportunity and support to succeed. We believe a culture that prioritizes diversity and inclusion drives innovation and fosters solutions, not only is designed to benefit our employees but our clients, the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) industry, and the legal community at large.
In 2018, when the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association released the report: If Not Now, When? Achieving Equality For Women In The Courtroom and In ADR. NAM participated in numerous continuing legal education (CLE) programs that supported the report. NAM neutrals spoke about the dearth of women litigators in the courtroom and women who served as neutrals in complex commercial and international mediations and arbitrations. They addressed ways to move the needle and the steps that need to be taken by the judiciary, law firms and ADR providers to resolve the disparity.
Additionally, throughout the year, NAM actively participates in numerous CLE programs involving various bar associations and women conferences both locally and nationally.
NAM encourages diversity in the workplace – it’s good for business, advances the companies goals and brings different viewpoints to the table. A diverse workforce helps connect with new clients and can lead to creatively resolving problems as well as creating new products and services.
