Speaking Engagements

The program will provide a comprehensive overview to virtual mediation and arbitration, including guidelines and protocols regarding cybersecurity for virtual hearings, and a review of available technology and choice of platforms.

Attendees will learn best practices and pitfalls that occur during mediations and how to maximize the possibility of achieving a resolution through the mediation. Issues unique to the virtual ADR process in terms of negotiations and security unique to videoconferencing technology will also be addressed.

Judge DiBlasi will provide participants with an introduction to mediation and virtual alternative dispute resolution (ADR), its benefits, cybersecurity and enhanced security protocols and much more.

Topics will include ethical issues and guidelines for both the participant and the mediator; ensuring security so as to preserve privacy and confidentiality; conducting the arbitration and mediation through the use of technology; conquering fears associated with its technical aspects, and the benefits of the technology for the ADR process in the face of COVID-19 and beyond.

Mr. Worden will focus on the best way, for attorneys to benefit from mediation with an emphasis on tort cases, including presentation, psychology, strategy and the levers that help to get the best results. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants for many years at mediation and looks forward to sharing his experiences and the lessons learned.
